William Elder, son of William and Josepha (née White) Elder, was born on 25 September 25th, 1891 in Limavady, County Londonderry, Ireland. He married Margaret Logan on December 23rd, 1914 in the Drumachose Parish Church.
Known children:
Andrew Elder (1821-1886) died 20 November 1886. His place of death was recorded as Ashgrove, Killygordon, County Donegal. He was 65 years old and a farmer. His son was present at death but his name is not readable.
On February 4th, 1907, Samuel Elder’s body was found in the River Roe at “Natty’s Hole” near Ballyclose, Limavady. His death record lists Samuel as a widower and labourer of 75 years. Cause of death was drowning pronounced by Benjamin Lane, the coroner for Co. Londonderry. An inquest into Samuel’s death was held February 4th, 1907. The death was registered February 12th, 1907 by James McFeehan (assistant registrar).
