On February 4th, 1907, Samuel Elder’s body was found in the River Roe at “Natty’s Hole” near Ballyclose, Limavady. His death record lists Samuel as a widower and labourer of 75 years. Cause of death was drowning pronounced by Benjamin Lane, the coroner for Co. Londonderry. An inquest into Samuel’s death was held February 4th, 1907. The death was registered February 12th, 1907 by James McFeehan (assistant registrar).
