Ringsend Presbyterian Church

Rinsend Presbyterian Church

Ringsend Presbyterian Church is located on the Cashel Road before entering Ringsend, Co. Londonderry. The small structure has only a few graves close to the church building. My grand-mother Lily McGilligan was married at Ringsend Presbyterian Church.

I am trying to trace the Douglas family tree, and have found that my Great Grand father and mother were married in your church on 12 January 1872, they were Wilson Douglas and Nancy Forrest. Would it be possible to find out who Wilson Douglas,s father and mother were. If you could inform me of the proper proceedure to go through, I would be very grateful James Gordon Douglas.

Started to research our family tree and believe that Matilda Hutchinson is a full cousin of my late father, William John Hutchinson. I would be interested in making contact with you to find out more information if possible.

I am a descendant of a Matthew Elder and Agnes ‘Nancy’ Archibald from Coleraine, Co. Derry. They left Ireland around 1845 and settled in Mille Isles, Argenteuil Co., Quebec a small community north of Montreal. I’m also descended from William Morrow & Elizabeth Pollock who were on the Townland of Goran, Aghadowey Parish, Co. Derry in 1831 (on the Census) his son William’s marriage to Nancy Booth confirms the location of Goran Townland. They also immigrated around 1845 to the same community. Their grandson William Morrow married Margaret Melinda Elder granddaughter of Matthew & Nancy Elder. I believe the first Wm. mentioned is the son of John Morrow as there was a John Sr. & Jr. on the Townland of Goran in 1831. I’m looking for proof and whether there would be any records available from the Ringsend Church / Meeting house. Anxiously awaiting your reply.

I am a descendant of Annie Janetta McPherson. I am not sure of the relationship. My mother is Ann Jane McPherson Taggart born in Philadelphia, PA born 1926 died Aug 1998. Her father was Samuel Taggart . Came to United States May 10, 1909. If anyone has any information that can help me I would appreciate the help. The tombstone for the McPherson family is located on the church grounds. I have pictures of them. Please help, I am at a loss here for who is who.

Hi Karen, my name is Jane (nee McPherson). My grandmother was Annie Janetta McPherson (nee Kennedy), married to Joseph McPherson. Their son, Thomas James Ivor McPherson is my father and he still lives at the home farm, Belraugh Road, Ringsend, Garvagh.

Message for Ian Cowell.
Your grandmother, Matilda Murdoch, was my great aunt, a sister of my maternal grandfather, Isaac Hutchinson of Meavemanougher, Ringsend.
Perhaps you could email me so we can put more of the jigsaw together?
